It is never too late to begin.

I Dream This Day of Wondrous Things,
of Peace and Hope and Pride.
I Dance My Dance with Life Today,
I'm Filled with Love Inside.

Today is a good day for everything you ever wanted to do but didn't believe you could. Choose something that has always seemed out of your reach, and begin today. Perhaps the smallest baby step today, and a slightly larger step tomorrow.

It is never too late to begin. Remember that you always wanted to play the piano, paint, write poetry, start a journal, read that challenging book, begin stargazing, learn a little Spanish, take up yoga or qigong, build something special. There will never be a better day to begin than today. Just do it.

  1. Mucho gracias...I'm taking another baby step today in learning a little more Spanish! I was so happy to read, "Remember...'learn a little Spanish'...special. Thanks for the encouragement! How did you know?
    Your friend in D.C.

  2. I have always wanted to learn the piano, still do, always wanted to write a story...hope I will, love to write poetry, do sometimes...wish I could come to the level where I can publish them, would love to learn a bit of Spanish....I am going to take that step..first a baby step in my mind...then I will march forward...wish me luch......Thanks for the inspiration dr Hui

    1. I have learned so many valuable lessons in life thanks to my older brother who has been deaf since he was born.
I speak several languages. I have found that by placing post-it notes all over my home in various languages is quite useful. Place a post-it on every material object in your home in Spanish; write its meaning next to your new word. For example: your doors. La puerta- the door. For evety time you open or close your doors in your home recite the Spanish word...etc.
      Bathroom-el bano
Before long you will begin a vocabulary.
If you have familiarized yourself with small talk like , como estas usted? How are you? Practice whst you have leatned yo say around hispanic speaking individuals, do not be shy. If you think you have said it wrong, ask some one, como se dice- how do I say this correctly? Many people will be happy to oblige you in perfecting your ability to speak things correctly. I hope this helps!
Good luck and never give up!
You can do anything, within limits of course!

  3. No, it is never too late to begin. I am 42 years old and just started college. I have found a new passion for life just by taking baby steps. Thank you for the encouragement.

  4. Many thanks to you, Mr Lockwood. Many years ago i started yoga...i mediate and I live a simple life, i enjoy the simple pleasures of life...like every day I take a walk in nature...my house is surrounded with beautiful plants and trees...I sit on my patio and watch the birds come by to feed on th fruits that I put for them. A few years ago I started learning how to play the Guitar and keyboard...I was 53 yrs old...recently I started to learn Latin dance. I eat lots of fruits and salad...I walk almost every day for exercise...I'm full of energy...when I tell my age to people they don't beieve me, and this is what I say to them...yes I'm 56, but that doesn't mean... that I can't do the things that I love, I also read lots of inspirational and spiritual books...I'm happy with my life and I'm so peacfilled...Thank you for giving me more inspiration.

  5. To "I started yoga": Thank you for sharing about your great life. I am 68 - and feeling and acting younger than ever. So much to learn. So much to enjoy.
