To get the ball rolling, here are a couple of my own resolutions for 2010...
ReplyDeleteI resolve to take a walk every day (unless it's raining).
I resolve to begin each day by writing, before I answer my email.
I resolve to at least one thing for me each day to better my physical, mental, or emotional health in a positive manner.
ReplyDeleteI resolve to finish my book about our dear dog who passed away a year ago ... and have it published by May 1, 2010.
ReplyDeleteI resolve to work diligently on my second book for which I've chosen a subject and title.
I resolve to eat healthy snacks and meals daily.
I resolve to grow my Women's Group, "Women's Circle - Networking and Sharing" in Calgary so that I can be a part of others' healing and personal fulfillment!
Thank you, Jonathan, for giving me the space to write this! I believe that a resolution is more powerful once it is spoken or written.
As my husband and I move to our dream home on the Gippsland Lakes, I resolve to slow down and enjoy life's little surprises!
ReplyDeleteWe look forward to new beginnings and all the possibilities they will bring!

iam planning to finish my masters dissertation in 2010. i really want to eradicate my pessimism and be more optimistic. happy new year for all, for Dr Jonathan Lockwood Huie and thank him for his insightful quotes. my best quote that i always recite is: "whatever with the past has gone, the best is always yet to come". wish you all the best :)
ReplyDeleteI want to get my body in shape! Get into my Artwork. And most of all, read my Bible more!
ReplyDeleteI am committed to living a fearless life. I want to focus each day on the positive outcome I can generate by being upbeat, happy, realistic and by knowing and believing that we are truly what we think about. We have the tremendous opportunity to influence others by our actions and thoughts and to help others live enriched lives. I am looking foward to the new start of the year. Best wishes to everyone.
ReplyDeleteI resolve to loosen up and not take life so very seriously and increase Faith in God. I am a pessimist, so increase some positive attitude with the coming year. Explore more of life than limiting myself to only known things. Learn to take the right kind of risks. I want to increase my mental and emotional strengths.
ReplyDeleteI resolve to quit drinking. I want to make 2010 the year with a year of soberity.. Pray for me.
ReplyDeleteI resolve to build a stronger relationship with my husband. In turn, I can show greater compassion to my children. My daughter realized I hold back on what I really want to do. She showed me that I should not limit my abilities.
ReplyDeleteI resolve to maintain my sobriety, to see each day as a gift, and to be thankful for every moment I have on earth and this second chance I have been given to live a good life.

ReplyDeleteA new year
ReplyDeleteclean and white
new pictures to paint
new stories to write
let us get to it
without any fear
no footsteps have marred it
this clean, brand new year.
I have always been very goal oriented and have been keeping a record of all my dreams, goals, accomplishments since the late 80's.
ReplyDelete1) I'm going to be 46 this year and I'm starting to struggle with keeping the weight off. I want to walk an hour a day (even if it's on the treadmill).
2) And even though we are financially secure so far, good jobs, I would like to curb our apetite for always spending on "wants" as opposed to "needs" and try to clean up a few bills.
3)Also focus on my home based business & get it up and running while I work full time. Hopefully the business will become my primary source of income. so 3 things for now.

ReplyDeleteAll Glory, Honor, and Power belong to GOD. Praise the LORD JESUS CHRIST.
I've stopped making New Year's Resolutions because like so many others I become disappointed with myself when I don't keep them.
ReplyDeleteI find that making intentions are kinder. So, I intend to take the dogs to the dog park at least once a week, make more of an effort to stay in touch with friends & be more forgiving.
I resolve to simplify my life by getting rid of stuff that I do not need or use. To say what I do and do what I say (integrity). To act on my ideas and to learn not to proscrastinate.
ReplyDeleteI am grateful for the gift of life this year and hope to remain grateful and focus on the positive in my life. God bless you all as he has blessed me
ReplyDeleteI desire to better listen and therefore attain a better understanding of the voice of the Spirit, and extend these to my ellowman.
ReplyDeleteI want a good move on my career and hopefully a baby boy
ReplyDelete2010 will be a great year for growing closer to God. I will make more effort to take my eye's off myself and focus more on other's!
ReplyDeleteIm not giving anything up. I am going to do the opposite and start something new like build my faith and relationship with God. I would like to become a better person and a much smarter women. I would like to plan better and stick to the plan. I vow to remain clean and never use drugs again.
ReplyDeleteI want to start each day rejuninated with spirit, hope, admiration, and selflessness.
ReplyDeleteI want to beleive firmly in myself again.
I want to make friends.
I want to work harder.
I want to be pure in mind, body, and heart.
I want to walk free of the opinions of others (in my head) and live by my own resolves.
ReplyDeleteI want to save more this year.
I want to enjoy my music and develop creatively.
I don't resolve to do this really, I just hope to become more tolerant. For this is a battle I am now losing
ReplyDeleteI want to focus on listening this year. I plan to listen deeply to my inner voice, to others, to my body, to the lessons of the universe. In doing so, I hope to grow more patient, tolerant, loving and wise.
ReplyDeleteI, too, need to become more tolerant of others and I will remind myself daily to work toward this. I want to become a better listener, and to be ever grateful for the blessings my life is filled with. I will pray for those people who have stated here that their goal is sobriety. Be very strong....you can do it !!!! Your success will profoundly impact so many lives.
ReplyDeleteI need to become more patient and tolerant of others and myself.I also resolve to take better care of myself.
ReplyDeleteLet us all learn to "agree to disagree without being disagreeable".
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I have retired to Lake of the Ozarks. I want to be more aware of people in need and be able to give to them. I watched the movie "The Gift" again this year and it is very inspirational. I also want to get on with my painting and drawing, which I have put on hold while getting settled.
ReplyDeleteHello Jonathan, I will like to take this opportunity to thank you for the awesome inspirational quotes that lifts my spirits and teases my brain. Love them.
ReplyDeleteMy new year's resolution is to put myself first and not to be afraid to dream and work towards achieving my dream.
Happy New Year!!!!!!
In 2010 I want to journal everyday, even if it is a sentence or two, describing my feelings or days.. so when I look back in 2011, I can see how much I have grown, or what I was thankful for, or what I struggled with. I also plan to start the One Year Bible passage readings on the 1st and stick with it until December 31st! Happy new years everyone and best wishes!
ReplyDeleteI resolve to be happier with what I have.
ReplyDeleteI want to get a bit more healthy than I am now. I also want to read quite a bit more.
ReplyDeleteTake better care of my body, not to meet someone else's standards of weight or shape, but strictly in order for me to feel my best.
ReplyDeleteWe have the ability to change. Like a see saw, when we are on the down side, understand that the up side is still connected. Believe in your higher being through your jouney of life. This will help us maintain that balance. Embrace it all with open arms and know that you are growing throughout this jouney!! Share your experience with others so that we all can grow together!! May you reunite your mind, body, soul and heart as one!! Happy New You!!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to learn how to cook. And I'm going to enjoy the process rather than dread the potential mistakes.

My sincere love to you and your love ones.
Just an idea for next Christmas and to go along with the plant a tree idea. For the last 20 years my family has bought a live tree at the nursery, some type of pine or evergreen. It will cost you a few bucks more than a fresh cut tree, you still get that pine smell in your house and you get to plant it outside after Christmas is over. We have done this for over 20 years and I can't see why anyone would buy a cut tree after knowing this. Just an idea. Best Wishes Solitare
