Forgive All From Your Heart
A wise one said, "We are most like God when we forgive."
It is easy for us to blame, but hard for us to forgive.
Yet that is what we are called upon to do -
to forgive everyone for everything.
And the reward?
In this life, the reward for forgiveness
is your own happiness.
Unconditional universal forgiveness is
the key to your own happiness.
- Jonathan Lockwood Huie
The key to forgiveness is to forgive from the heart -
not from the mind.
- Sheri Rosenthal
Without forgiveness, we remain tethered to the person who harmed us.
We are bound with chains of bitterness, tied together, trapped.
Until we can forgive the person who harmed us,
that person will hold the keys to our happiness; that person will be our jailor.
When we forgive, we take back control of our own fate and our feelings.
We become our own liberators.
Forgiveness, in other words, is the best form of self-interest.
This is true both spiritually and scientifically.
We don’t forgive to help the other person.
We don’t forgive for others.
We forgive for ourselves.
- Desmond Tutu (Archbishop Emeritus and recipient of Nobel Peace Prize)
Forgive Your Brother from Your Heart.
- Matthew 18:21-22

How can I 'forgive every one for everything' ?
ReplyDeleteWhat about those who organised, or who ran the concentration camps like Belsen?
How can I forgive them? I DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT to claim pompous 'goodness'!
I lived (in the 60s) in the Soltau area of Germsany, close to Belsen.
My wife's family lived in that area.
I have visited some similar 'camps', Auschwitz..."Arbeit Macht Frei" !!
I hane learned what happened there!
HOW CAN I FORGIVE EVERYONE FORF EVERYTHING as you suggest!!!
I DO NOT HSAVE THE RIGHT!
or
THE INCLINATION!!

To continue to renew festering anger for evil deeds committed decades in the past does not not punish those who committed those deeds. It only punishes the one who renews his/her own anger.
ReplyDeleteForgive those who have injured you -
not because they deserve your forgiveness,
but because you can never be happy
until you release your anger and grant forgiveness.
