What I Know - What I Dont Know

What I know about life ...

I know that the darkest night is often the bridge to the brightest tomorrow.

I know that my life is designed to be an adventure.

I know that the act of smiling makes both me and others happier.

I know the power of saying, "Thank You."

I know that the greatest gift I can give the world is my happiness.

I know that joy blooms where minds and hearts are open.

I know that today is my day to dance lightly with life.

I know that I can change what I see by changing how I see.

What I don't know about life ...

I don't know the meaning of life, but I know compassion is the key.

I don't know what lies after death, but I know it is good.

The last one is contradicting and doesn't make any sense to me. "I don't know what lies after death, but I know it is good." If you don't know what lies after death, then how can you possibly know whether or not it is good or bad? You specifically state that "I don't know what lies after death." How can you then say anything else about what happens after death after making that statement? That's the same as saying I don't know what's around the corner but I'm certain its good. How can you make the assumption that its good if you do not know? What is your basis for having a feeling, because you just can't know because you know; that's not an answer in todays world unfortunately. Your response is appreciated.

I would be speaking more precisely to say, "I have Faith that what lies after death is good."

For better or worse, Faith, and all of spirituality and religion, lies outside of reason and scientific proof.

Thats how I interpret it. Faith and compassion are the keys to a meaningful life.
